Alex Flinner

A Lighting Designer out of Duluth MN, Alex greatly enjoys using Light to enhance and create moments that please the eye and inspire intrigue. Recently Alex has Designed lighting for Amahl and the Night Visitors (Lyric Opera of the North, LOON), Gilbert and Sullivan’s Ruddigore (GSVLOC), Harbor City International HS productions, and more. He has also worked with The Duluth Playhouse on their Family Stage and NorShor Stage, Gilbert and Sullivan Very Light Opera Company (GSVLOC), Wise Fool Theater, Lyric Arts in Anoka MN, and The Phipps Center in Hudson WI on past productions. In 2017 Alex won Broadway World’s Minneapolis Regional Award for Lighting with GSVLOC’s The Gondoliers. Outside the realm of Lighting, Alex also Designs Sound and records concerts, plays Bass with multiple ensembles, and drives a variety of buses to locations near and far.

Past LOON Credits include Amahl and the Night Visitors (2020 and 2012), The Elixir of Love, Don Giovanni, Rigoletto, Don Pasquale, La Traviata, The Mikado, and more.
