Lyric Opera of the North Seeking young singer-actors for Children’s Chorus in Hansel & Gretel
Lyric Opera of the North is looking for 20 child singer/performers to appear in a new production of Hansel and Gretel by Engelbert Humperdinck. If you have ever been interested in dancing as a magical forest creature and joyfully singing as one of the Gingerbread Children who just escaped from the Witch, then this is the production for you!
LOON needs enthusiastic performers who are mostly under 5 feet tall and appear between the ages of 8-12. Stage and singing experience are preferred, but not required. This opera will be sung in English and will begin weekly music rehearsals starting April 24th, regular staging rehearsals starting May 23rd, and performances June 10th and 12th.
Music rehearsals will be held at First Lutheran in Duluth, staging rehearsals at Concordia Lutheran in Superior, and beginning with the orchestra on June 5, all rehearsals, and performances, will take place at MPAC on UMD Campus.
Any race, ethnicity, and all genders are encouraged and welcome!
Covid protocols will be updated in April to address masking and testing requirements. All participants must be fully vaccinated.
