Beth Sobczak

Beth Sobczak earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Keyboard Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Superior, where she studied with Dr. Beth Gilbert and Dr. Norma Stevlingson. While at UW-Superior, she performed in the university orchestra’s concerto concert three times as a featured soloist and was a two-time recipient of a Matinee Musicale Scholarship.

A Superior native, Beth is an active accompanist and collaborative pianist in the Twin Ports and beyond. She has performed in theatres across the region, including the Lakeshore Players Theatre (Oh, Coward!) and the UW-Superior Theatre (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee). At the Duluth Playhouse, Beth was involved in the productions of SpamalotAnything GoesLes Misérables (a collaboration with the DSSO and Minnesota Ballet), and White Christmas. In Trial by Jury, Iolanthe, and Ruddigore (all produced at the Underground Theatre and directed by Dr. Jeffrey Madison), Beth was the rehearsal accompanist and acted as the orchestra for the performances.

Her work with Lyric Opera of the North includes Don Giovanni and Trouble in Tahiti / The Filthy Habit as well as the annual Summer Sparkler. She has also accompanied UW-Superior’s Opera Workshop and A Cappella Choir. Beth currently serves as an organist at Concordia Lutheran Church in Superior.
