Anna Donnelly

Anna Donnelly is a soprano and teaching artist based in Chicago, IL where she performs with the Lyric Opera of Chicago Chorus, Chicago Symphony Orchestra Chorus, and Chicago Opera Theater. Anna joined Finger Lakes Opera as a young artist during the Summer of 2023. With FLO, she performed as The High Priestess in Aida and Sarah in the world premier workshop performance of Brittany Boykin and Jarrod Lee’s Two Corners. In her professional career, Anna has performed with the Lyric Opera of Chicago Chorus, Chicago Symphony Chorus, Chicago Opera Theater, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, Miami Music Festival, and Bloomington Chamber Opera. Some credits include Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, and Gianetta in L’elisir d’amore. Anna was granted an Encouragement Award from the St. Louis District of the 2023 Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition. In February of 2019 she was the first prize winner in the undergraduate voice division of the Indianapolis Matinee Musicale Scholarship Competition. Anna holds Bachelors and Masters degrees from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music where she studied with the esteemed Heidi Grant Murphy. While at IU, Anna performed in numerous opera productions and concerts. Some notable credits include Gretel in Hänsel und Gretel, Drusilla in L’Incoronazione di Poppea, and Soeur Constance in Dialogues des Carmélites. With a particular interest in voice science, Anna also holds a Graduate Certificate in Vocology from Indiana University. Anna opened her own teaching studio in Chicago, IL called Melody Music. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in her studies of voice science, lifespan development, and growth mindset theory.
