Sarah Hedlund

Sarah Hedlund is an artist living in Decorah, Iowa, working as the Creative Director and in-house artist for craft brewery Toppling Goliath Brewing Co. In the eight years with the brewery, Sarah has illustrated over 100 labels; Toppling Goliath is most known for the T-rex on their popular Pseudo Sue pale ale. If you spot that purple dino in the liquor store, you’ve found Sarah’s work. She studied illustration at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and does freelance gigs for a wide array of clients, from roller derby teams, musicians, burlesque performers, and now an opera company. Her work has been published in books and featured in magazines/newspapers, but her true passion is using art to foster change and support causes close to her heart. In 2020, Sarah created the viral “VOTE and tell them Ruth sent you” image, and by selling merchandise, she was able to raise $29,000 to donate to non-profit charities. Sarah’s personal art is mostly hand-drawn, painted, or collaged which is a nice change of pace from the digital work she does for others.
