Matthew Mehaffey

Matthew Mehaffey, Conductor. LOON debut. Affiliations: Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at the University of Minnesota (UMN), Artistic Director of the Oratorio Society of Minnesota (OSM), and former Music Director of the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh (MCP). He also serves as the creator and editor of the English Heritage Music Series (EHMS), published by University of Minnesota Libraries Publishing. Awards: He was the Chorus Master for the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra’s recording of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, which received a 2021 Grammy nomination. He is also a recipient of the Arthur “Red” Motley Exemplary Teaching Award from the University of Minnesota.
