You are invited to audition to join in the chorus for Bach’s unforgettable St. John Passion, in a fully-staged production presented by the Lyric Opera of the North. Richard Robbins has been invited to serve as Chorus Master for this production. Dirk Meyer will conduct the performances, which will be staged by Robert Neu and will feature orchestra and an array of guest artists. This special event will coincide with the 500-year anniversary of the Reformation.
A smaller chorus will sing the virtuosic choral movements of the work, with dramatic staging. A larger chorus will have the opportunity to sing Bach’s beautiful chorales from seated risers. The work will be sung in German. We look forward to welcoming choral singers from near and far for this performance.
