Tyler Kaiser

Tyler Kaiser is a Duluth, Minnesota native active as a composer, particularly in Northern Minnesota and Wisconsin. His compositions have earned him international, national and regional recognition including numerous awards from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, the National Endowment for the Arts, the American Composers Forum, the American Recorder Society, Arts Midwest/Meet the Composer, the Lake Superior Chamber Orchestra, the Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra, Matinee Musicale, the College of St. Scholastica, Colder By The Lake Comedy Troupe and many others. He is also a 2002 and 1999 McKnight/ARAC Fellow.

His compositions cover the gamut from symphonies, operas, chamber works, works for early instruments and a wide variety of pieces tailored for specific commissions. His compositions have been performed by the Duluth-Superior Symphony Orchestra, the Lake Superior Chamber Orchestra, the Twin Ports Wind Ensemble, Lyric Opera of the

North, the Duluth East High School Orchestra, the University of Wisconsin, Superior

Orchestra, the Highland String Quartet, the Minnesota Lute Quartet, the Chambure Vihuela Quartet, the Lake Superior Saxophone Quartet, the Horns of a Dilemma, and many solo artists both regionally and internationally.

He has been published by Wolfhead Music and Edition Corvus. His arrangements for vihuela quartet are available on the CD “Canto y Danza” through Amazon, CD Baby and other distributors. “The Fates” for mandolin and guitar is featured on the Naxos recording “American Classics” performed by the duo Ahlert & Schwab.
